Getting Started

Get up and running with NexaDeck in minutes. This guide walks you through creating your account, installing the app, importing your karaoke library, and running your first show.

1Create Your Account

Visit the registration page and sign up with your email. You'll receive a confirmation email — click the link to activate your account.

2Download NexaDeck

Log in to your customer portal and download the installer for your platform:

  • macOS — Universal binary (Apple Silicon & Intel)
  • Windows — 64-bit installer (.msi)
  • Linux — AppImage or .deb package

Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. NexaDeck will open automatically after installation.

3Import Your Library

NexaDeck supports common karaoke file formats:

  • CDG+MP3 — Standard karaoke format (paired .cdg and .mp3 files)
  • MP4 — Video karaoke files with embedded lyrics
  • ZIP archives — Bulk import of CDG+MP3 pairs

Go to Library > Import and select a folder containing your karaoke files. NexaDeck will scan and import them automatically.

4Run Your First Show

  1. Click Start Show on the main screen to begin a new karaoke session.
  2. Add singers to the rotation queue by clicking the + button.
  3. Search for a song in the library and assign it to a singer.

NexaDeck will manage the rotation order, play the selected tracks, and display lyrics on your output screen.

5Connect to NexaLiveOptional

For audience song requests and remote DJ control, connect NexaDeck to NexaLive.

Go to Settings > NexaLive and sign in with your Abydonian account. Once connected, your library syncs to the cloud and audience members can browse and request songs at nexalive.app.

6Tips for Your First Show

Here are a few tips to help your first show go smoothly:

  1. Import early — Load your full library before the show starts so songs are ready to go.
  2. Test audio output — Verify your audio routing in Settings before your audience arrives.
  3. Use buffer music — Set up a buffer playlist to play between singers during lulls.
  4. Learn the shortcuts — Space to play/pause, Escape to stop, N for next singer.
  5. Enable NexaLive — Let your audience request songs from their phones to keep energy high.
